Seniors Strength Classes are designed to promote Fitness and Strength Training for over 50's age group. Classes are designed to improve strength, balance, coordination and flexibility. Research shows that strength training can alleviate the effects`of chronic conditions such as Arthritis, Type 2 Diabetes, Osteoporosis and Heart Disease. Strength Training has also been shown to improve mental well being, body composition [more muscle and less fat ] ,self esteem and self confidence, low back pain, older people's ability to undertake activities of daily living and maintain an independent lifestyle. The Seniors Strength classes are also a good social activity and lots of fun
Classes are held at the Strathalbyn Football Club Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 9.30 for approx 1 hour. The 1st week of each month the classes are held at Fleurieu Fitness Gym at Willyaroo.
Classes are $7.00 each, or a weekly membership is available which also allows you to use the Gym at Willyaroo.
